The Start-up Visa Program was designed for immigrant entrepreneurs with the skills and potential to build innovative businesses in Canada. The program required support from designated venture capital funds, angel investor groups, or business incubators. As of January 1, 2026, the program is paused.

Target for 2024 is 5,000 admissions; increasing to 6,000 in 2025 and 2026 under the Immigration Levels Plan.
