The Barbados Welcome Stamp is a 12-month remote work visa launched in July 2020 — the first Caribbean digital nomad programme. Administered under the Remote Employment Act, it lets non-nationals employed abroad live and work from Barbados while keeping their overseas employer. Applicants must show annual income of at least USD 50,000 and hold valid health insurance.
The visa runs 12 months and can be reapplied for. Fees are USD 2,000 for an individual or USD 3,000 for a family bundle, paid within 28 days of approval. Decisions usually come within 7 business days. Holders pay no Barbados income tax on foreign earnings, though local VAT still applies. Spouses and children can be included in one bundled application.
