A permanent visa for nationals of participating Pacific island countries and Timor-Leste, selected through a ballot process.
The Pacific Engagement Visa (subclass 192) grants permanent residency in Australia to citizens of 12 Pacific nations and Timor-Leste, selected through an annual ballot. The Pacific Engagement stream allocates up to 3,000 places per year; a separate Treaty stream allocates up to 280 places for Tuvaluan nationals.
Applicants must be aged 18–45 at ballot registration, meet English, health, and character requirements, and secure an ongoing job offer from an Australian employer before the visa is granted. The visa is permanent and confers full work rights; dependants may accompany the holder.
This visa is ideal for Pacific islanders or Timorese nationals aged 18–45 who want to permanently relocate to Australia and are prepared to secure Australian employment.
