Overview

Short-term work visa for seasonal employment in agriculture, tourism, and other sectors.

The Seasonal Worker Visa is a temporary work permit specifically designed to address labor demands in sectors that experience fluctuating staffing needs, such as agriculture, forestry, and tourism. This visa allows non-EU nationals to enter Austria for short-term employment, typically for a duration of up to six months within a twelve-month period. It is a quota-based system, meaning that the number of available permits is regulated annually by the Austrian government to ensure that the labor market needs are met while maintaining orderly migration flows.

To obtain this visa, applicants must secure a seasonal job offer from an Austrian employer who has obtained the necessary employment permit from the Public Employment Service (AMS). The employer is responsible for sponsoring the application and ensuring that the terms of employment, including wages and accommodation, meet Austrian legal standards. The visa application fee generally ranges from €60 to €100. This program is ideal for individuals seeking temporary, seasonal work opportunities and provides a structured, legal framework for both the employer and the employee during the designated work season.
