Official Information

Overview

Conduct business meetings and negotiations for up to 60 days without Argentine work authorization.

The Argentine Business Visitor Visa enables short-term business activities under the National Directorate of Migrations and Law No. 25.871. It allows foreign professionals to conduct negotiations, attend conferences, and participate in commercial exchanges without residency. The visa covers activities like signing contracts and representing a company, remaining outside local employment categories.

The visa permits up to 60 days, with extensions possible before expiry. The USD 200 fee covers processing of 7–10 working days; some cases take 30–45 days. Applicants submit the Visa Application Form (FSV) with company invitation, employment confirmation, financial proof, and travel insurance. The visa does not permit work authorization or local salary.

This visa is ideal for executives, entrepreneurs, and professionals conducting short-term business operations—board meetings, market research, contract finalization—without a work permit.

Advantages & Considerations

Key Benefits

  • Renewable stays up to 60 days allow extended business engagement without initial visa reapplication
  • Expedited processing available: 3 working days (USD 40) or standard 7–10 working days for most approvals
  • Open to all nationalities — no country-of-origin restrictions on qualification
  • Streamlined documentation versus full work permits; legitimate legal cover for negotiations and contracts
  • Extension possible through Argentina's National Directorate of Migration before expiry
  • Lower cost (USD 200) compared to temporary residence or work visa categories
  • No job offer or employer sponsorship required — self-petitioned business travel

Worth Knowing

  • Cannot earn Argentine salary or engage in local employment under any circumstances
  • Requires original corporate letters from both home company and Argentine counterpart
  • Processing can extend to 30–45 days in complex cases; consulate verification delays possible
  • Extension availability depends on National Directorate discretion; not guaranteed
  • No path to residency or permanent stay — strictly temporary with fixed or extended-day ceiling
