Overview

Temporary residence permit for foreign nationals with valid employment contracts and work permits. Required for all foreign workers except highly skilled specialists and those with special/permanent residency.

Employment residence permits allow foreign nationals to legally work in Armenia. Most foreign workers require both a work permit from the Ministry of Labor and a residence permit from the Migration Service. Exceptions exist for highly skilled specialists in specific fields (IT, agriculture, etc.) and those with special/permanent residency.

Annual Visa Allocation

35,000 visas per year

The maximum number of permits is determined annually by the Minister of National Economy and cannot exceed the average number of vacancies from the previous year. For 2025, the combined quota for the Residence Permit for Employment Purposes and the Guest Worker Residence Permit is set at 35,000. Unused quotas do not roll over to the following year.
