Freelance Permit

The UAE Freelance Permit is a self-sponsored work authorization enabling independent professionals to operate as freelancers in designated free zones, including the Dubai Development Authority. This permit licenses individual practitioners to invoice clients and deliver services without forming a company or securing employer sponsorship.

The permit costs AED 7,500 with the DDA; other zones charge between AED 7,500 and AED 15,000. Once granted, applicants obtain a corresponding residence visa valid for three years and renewable, allowing them to sponsor spouse and children if they meet a minimum income of AED 4,000 per month.
