Digital Nomad Residence (Residència per a Nòmades Digitals)

Andorra's Residència per a nòmada digital (D.3) is a dedicated residence permit created under Decree 11/2023 for remote workers who serve clients outside the Principality. It sits apart from the older active, passive and self-employment categories as a modern route for telecommuters using technology to work across borders.

Applicants need a Ministry of Economy resolution confirming their work is location-independent, sufficient means for themselves and dependents, private health and disability cover, a clean criminal record, and Andorran accommodation. The permit runs two years initially, then renews for two, three and ten years. Holders must spend 90 days a year in-country; the quota is 50 places annually.

This visa is ideal for established remote professionals — engineers, consultants, designers, online entrepreneurs — who bill clients abroad, can support themselves and family, and want a low-tax European base with a long-term residence path.
